Psychedelic drugs are a class of drugs that alter consciousness and produce a variety of effects, including hallucinations, altered sense of time and space, and changes in mood and emotion. Some of the most well-known psychedelic drugs include LSD, psilocybin (found in magic mushrooms), and DMT.
The effects of psychedelic drugs can vary depending on the drug, the dose, and the individual user. However, most psychedelic drugs have a relatively short duration of action, with effects typically lasting for 4–12 hours.
However, a new study published in the journal Nature Neuroscience has found that the effects of psychedelic drugs can last for days or even weeks after the drug has been eliminated from the body.
